We have approx 3-4yr old Chantilly GL, and here's the question...
The 'seat benches' zip onto the bed mattresses don't they. Are these supposed to be part of the bed when you're sleeping on them? And if so, how do you zip up the inner tent(s), ours seems really really tight fit with the benches still attached to the mattresses. Are they supposed to be like this or are the inner tents only supposed to be zipped up with the bench seats unattached to the mattress?
they are a bit tight but is your big mattress flush with the outer side of the bed?
also the mattresses (at least in our old chantilly) are different sizes the one on the right (looking from the awning) is wider than the other getting them muddled up would make the left hand bedroom very hard to do up.
We are also struggling a little with a very old chantilly we bought secondhand earlier this year. It has no instruction manual, so we're discovering things as we use it. I'm interested to know about folding it down- do you have to remove the mattresses altogether, just the 'seat' sections or is it possible to fold it with everything 'in situ'? When we got it everything was in situ, but we've never managed to get it the same since- we alway end up with mattresses bulging out of the sides. At the moment we've taken them out to store in the loft as we've done camping for this year, but if anyone can help me out ready for next year I'd be grateful! We also fold it down with all the canvasand innertents in situ, by folding the canvas onto the top of the frame, but again, we might be doing it completely wrong, so please let me know!! We do mange to zip up the sleeping compartments when camping, but often leave them open to save the hassle, as they are tight and a bit of a pain!
we take the seat mats out and put them in the middle when closing up regarding the inner bits we leave in situ but we do take down the awnings and pack them away seperatly in the middle section again we leave all in over the winter mattres included albit we do store in a garage

there should be white tapes that are attached to the bed board ,they go through the bedroom "wall" over the mattress and tie between the edge of the mattress and seat under the zip.they stop the mattress sliding about when folding the TT up.we leave the bedrooms attached but remove the ceiling lining to get at the clips at the apex.on the right hand side (from awning) there is a hidden extension which we didnt spot first time ,the "hoop" that holds the canvas outer away from the bedroom at the top of the window click out no not once but twice this extends that hoop to match the opposite side its collapsible because it needs to be shorter to fold up correctly ,it comes out about a foot!.
