We went frame tent, caravan, folding camper and we are quite happy. You do need to be able to open them up to dry them if they come home wet.

No, canvas ones don't smell damp when it's raining. They're only cold if the weather is cold and you haven't got a heater. Bit like a caravan, really.

the advantage of folding campers is once there up you have fixed beds either end - saves having to keep making up beds! also because the beds are out the ends the cabin space is pure living area/kitchen etc so you get more spacegenerally for  smaller trailer/body area than a caravan.

hope this helps

Folding campers are fab in the hot weather, I prefer caravan if the weathers bad, you can camp all year in a van, I know some will say they do in campers too, but for me its too cold and then you got to worry about the wet canvas when you get home.

They are easier/cheaper to tow, easy to store and if you have a garage and it will fit in then all the better!

Hi Topbuzz

we also went from van tent TT to conway folding camper we've now got conway cruiser we go all weather's find once it's up we have plenty of space beds made up and stay that way we use a small blow heater which keeps us warm and if you run it when canvas is wet and your packing up it helps to dry canvas less drying time when you get home

One more into the fold!.....but topbuzz if you buy a Dandy be prepared for  the curious camper....Dandys seem to attract people like wasps to a jam buttie....I have even thought about printing out a few fact sheets that I can hand out to save keep repeating myself!

"thinking of selling my caravan and buying a conway countryman folding tent or penenne ,should i consult a docter"

Of course not. Folding campers and trailer tents are far superior to caravans for many reasons. The cost less new, have more space, are easier to tow with sensible cars and fc's are off the ground and have seperate bedroom areas. Fc's also have services like cooker, fridge and hot water.

We are selling ours cos we are too feeble to make good use of it now but having had 3 caravans we are well able to choose the better accomodation.
