Many thanks for that - have done that - but I got confused (which is normal for me!!) and asked to forward my e-mail details on to Katie & stephen Daniel Heather Zoe & baby Thomas henry - LOL - so sorry if you do get an e-mail just ignore it - i am being daft, as usual.
So I sent them another message saying to ignore that one and send it to kimc - whoops.
Just been looking on e-bay at dandy's and this one came up
Looks good - it gives me an idea of what they look like and how much I need to save up - I think it will probbally be this time next year when we will actually get to buy one - once we have saved - if we are lucky and manage to get a bargain maybe just maybe we can get one this year in the summer - but will see.
I will sell my tent to help buy one, but as we are booked to go away in july/aug I will have to sell it after then, lol.
We will deffo get one, but it's good to see which type we actually want so i know what to look for as for us it will be a long term investment.
Hi Angylion, just read your post regarding Fc's, It just so happens that OH and i are thinking about selling our dandy designer 1991(light blue and white). I know you said later in the year, but if your interested let me know and i can give you some more details.
Hi, no probs ask as many questions as you like, I'll try to answer as much as poss.
It's a 5 berth unit which has 2 doubles and a single (which can be made up into a 2 seater table.)
It's got everything that the one on ebay has except ours has a full awning not a canopy, which has only been used twice and gives you about the same space again, so it's great for storage ect..ect. although if only doing weekends it's probably best not to take the awning, as any dandy owner will tell you it takes about 10-15 mins to put the unit up and a about another 45-60mins for the awning. But well worth it for longer holidays.
Overall condition is pretty good for year
We would be looking for around £850 for it.
If theres any more questions angylion, feel free to ask!
Many thanks for that - I will speak to my hubby about it - as we really do need to save up first - but I will let you know if we are intrested in it - but for now take it that we need to save first, as we really don't have the cash at the moment.
But thank you so, so much for answering the questions and telling me about it,
Thanks for that, I must admit I am starting to prefer the sound of a dandy model, they sound more spacious, secure and the canvass sounds better - but most of it they look like they have charceter.
I looked on the Riva website and there new ones still look like they retain a lot of the charecter of the dandy, which is nice to see.
I spoke to my hubby about the one offered and he said he wants us to save up first, as we also need to buy a tow bar for our car aswell!!!!
Once we have saved up and sorted out a tow bar for our car, then we can look to buy one, but in the meantime we will carry on looking around and finding out more about the various models - as before I came on here I didn't really know much about them.
The more we know the more we will know what to look for and try to get a good deal.
Can I ask do you have to service them every year? Silly question I know but I have seen people saying about them been serviced, if so where do you take it to get serviced???
See I really still don't know much about them!!! LOL
You are all brilliant, thank you so much for all your help and advice. x
