Okay am embarrassed to say this but we have a bent pole. Yes the one they tell you about when they give you the demonstration from when th pole hits the kitchen unit. (not our fault honest but pa in laws - long story)
Anyway has anyone else had this happen and if so can you tell me a) do you have to take the TT into camperlands to have it sorted or can you get the part from Camperlands and do it yourself. If b option how easy is it - I am useless but a control freak so not happy about hubby attempting to do it lol
Don't be embarressed, we/I did the same at the end of last year, But luckily is still working ok,OH is welder so will be fixing sometime.
It is one of those things, allocated the job of moving section back to our daughter, on the time of doing she wasn't with us and both assumed the other had done! the air was rather fragrant.. But will not forget again,,
We love our lettie, we collected her from Camperlands Jan 07 - Check with them as they must have a lot of calls about this - Good luck and enjoy your new toys
Rang them today (have left it to hubby for a week to do lol). wasn't sure if it needed to be took back to sort but luckily part is only around £10 thankfully and is simple to do - well my father in law and as it was his fault it happened he can't complain about having to do the job don't trust hubby to do it so off next week to get it as we go away in seven weeks time and we need a couple of weekends away to be confident
oops sent before I was ready. not confident as only had one weekend away before the bent bit happened and i wasn't brave enough to go away with it bent. I can't wait to get away.
Kate
sorry about that no idea why it sent all those times
Dont' worry, I did the same on our 2nd trip away, slight kink in the tube but still using it and it stood up to a right battering last "Summer". The repair from Camperlands is a bit drastic, you need to upbolt the pole, then saw through just above the damage. They will be sending you a new slightly wider bottom bit which you re-attach and put the original pole inside. I've bottled it, can't bear the thought of sawing through but we take it along just in case....
We did the same thing on our Camp-let, but as it was second or third hand anyway, we decided to live with the kink in the pole! It didn't seem to have any detrimental effect when using the tent at all. The previous owner had painted the rectangular bit on the pole that flips out behind the kitchen a fluorescent green as a reminder, which was a good idea, but we still forgot from time to time
bobandsuzzi thank you for your rather personal remarks on the state of my marriage.
As I said I am a control freak and the first to admit I have it as a very bad fault in my character but he would be a close second to say that he wouldn't know where to start. I also do not write anything about him that he doesn't see as he reads every post that I have written.
I come on here for advice about camping not about my marriage (which happens to be very happy and to a wonderful person who knows I think of him highly).
As I know from other forums I belong to posts cannot tell the tone of a message (and mine are tongue in cheek) I shan't bother posting here anymore on camping issues I will try and find another forum somewhere they will answer my questions and not question my relationship.
nannyboo please don't take one persons post as word of how the rest of feel, I have had people put me down on here before and have upset me a great deal. don't go any where I enjoy your post. don't let them upset you
Hi nannyboo, you are right, it is really hard to read whether someone is posting a serious remark or is simply making a tongue in cheek comment when all you have to go by is what they write. I made a remark on another forum a while ago that was definitely meant to be 'tongue in cheek' and only realised afterwards that the person it was written to didn't know me from Adam and might not realise I was simply having a laugh. Anyway, the moral of the story is, don't take anything anyone writes too seriously and definitely don't let it put you off taking part in this forum. They may be answering your tongue in cheek comments with some of their own and would probably die of embarrassment if they realised you had taken them seriously. Anyway, enjoy your Camplet and I hope you have a great camping season ahead. We have a Combicamp which must be first cousins with the Camplet and we had a great time with it last year. Let's hope the weather improves before too long.
I tend to think that if someone makes personal or derogatory comments about someone else, it says more about themselves and their own frailities. Try not to let it put you off this great forum.
Okay have decided can't leave this wonderful site as who else would know what I was talking about. I probably over reacted and they meant in tongue in cheek (if not not my problem lol) thanks everyone for making me feel a real member here as I know I don't post very often unless I have a query (too much time spent on childminding forums)
Don't ever leave this site! I always read your posts because I am hoping to get a camplet and I am looking forward to hearing all about your adventures this year.
We bought a tent in Sept 2006, but then suddenly aquired a huge poodle. Joe was 3 when we got him and very anxious and badly behaved. He is much better now but still has his moments and we are very nervous about taking him on holiday.
We first saw the camplet at the Manchester Motorhome Show in Jan and then went to Camperlands show in Feb. I woud have bought one then but OH wants to test out the camping with the tent this year before we make such a big investment.
So as you see I shall be hanging on your every word.
it seems that we will never get away but if its not one think its another stopping us getting to camperlands for the pole replacement. We ended up ringing them and they are mail ordering it for us - two hour drive for us to get there otherwise.
We lost my Dad in February and we seem to spend every spare moment with mum so am looking forward to getting a break in the tent.
