Hi

After using our Trigano Chantilly for a few times we are managing to get the unit erected quite well and without too many silent moments.
We still have a number of questions one of which is there appears to be 2 fixings for the pegs on the canvas, the elastic fixing and the D shaped plastic/nylon fixing. Which one should be used?

Your help will be appreciated.

Regards
Neil

I always use the elastic as when I used the D ring thing it looked like the plastic could rip if the wind got up.This leads to the question "whats the D thing for?".Did you have fun with your trigano?

same here i use the elastic ( awning and bed skirts ) because i think it will have more play in the wind.

You use the elastic loop. Always. Peg directly though the D-ring and  the canvas will rip apart in the first good wind. You need a little bit of give.

What's the D-ring for? well, when your elastic loop breaks or perishes with old age, what do you do? Unpick the seam to get at the fixing point for the elastic? Or do you take your new elastic loop, thread the doubled end through the D-ring then pass it back through itself to make a secure new pegging point in under one second?

Damm clever chaps, these tent designers.....
