Just a quick moan..as usual!..I store the Dandy in a council lockup, nice and dry and cheap! tend to only look in when passing during the hibernation time, well a couple of weeks ago I noticed that a hole had appeard in the garage roof, no doubt kids lobbing stones,so I contacted the landlord who very quickly got a worker to pick up the keys and do the repairs, when the chap arrived I told him about the camper being in place and he said no worries as he has one also and knew how to move it if it was in the way,he returned the keys after a couple of hours and said no problem, all done new roof sheet fitted..unfortunately I had to go away due to work so did not get to the garage for a couple of weeks and when I did all looked fine, fine that is until I pulled the Dandy out to check the tyres..both mudguards were ripped off, one of them showing a nice bootprint, seems its too much trouble to move a camper and put a ladder up when you can climb all over said camper, needless to say the council deny any wrongdoing as good as told me I must have done it when putting it away and not noticed...both sides?????
council workers or councilers, all in the same boat, do what they want as they are allowed to,whether you like it or not, because its people like you and I pay thier wagers.
------------- Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.
Pete.
Hi Alfred, you have had awful luck this year, what with your passing out, and the van running away. It must be time for your lottery numbers to come up, fingers crossed for you.
Pity you couldn't match the lazy gits bootprint, or better still, try to find out where he keeps his, and dance all over his unit, and wear ' hobnails' to do it.
Hope you have better luck from now, and enjoy any forthcoming hols.
That is bad luck. I too use a council lock up. Had grafitti on the doors of all the garages * complained. They did clean it up. Still suffer broken glass all over the access road. Keep badgering. You will get a result. Put it in writing, they will respond!
Being a self employed Joiner, when we lived in a council house I did my own repairs as there's were rubbish.
I have seen some of them at work (which is fairly uncommon) and I have seen them sleeping in thier van in a secluded lane, The councils get exactly what they deserve as the councillors are mostly exactly of the same ilk.
Put it in writing and send a copy to everyone in the council that might be interested. (Put on the letter what other departments you've copied it too.) Take some photos as well and include them. Make sure you include the date of the roof repairs so they can trace the job number, and add in a good estimate of how much it will take to repair the damage.
Councils are actually insured as to damage to property while on the premises so there is a mechanism for this sort of complaint. And a cheque book at the end. You might be a bit too far adrift of the time the damage was done but it's worth a go.
