Well, we have booked to go to Merley Court for a few days at the end of August, to test our FC!
As this will be our first time away in the thing, does anyone have any tips or perhaps a checklist of things to remember?

think about the main aspects of your holiday ,eating sleeping cooking and entertainment if the weather is bad.then make yourself a list for each category. ie pans for cooking cutlery plates etc.bedding, pillows.what will you have to keep you warm if the weather is a bit cool(heater) dont forget something to light your stove with or you wont be cooking at all.dont forget your sense of humour cus your learning ,let it be fun not frustrating and you will be fine.
good luck and enjoy your fc and your first outing in it

As someone else once said on one of these threads "don't forget a pen and paper to write down all the things that no one said you would need/want"
Above all just enjoy the change of scenery.

Enjoy your first trip, hopefully the weather will have cleared up by then. It's a standing joke with my family, I have lists for everything and while I'm away I just keep adding to the list. We've been away 6 times so far this season and I'm still adding to the list.
It's the making do/adapting which adds to the enjoyment.
As long as your sorted for the 1st night, you can always get anything you've forgot the next day. A short trial not too far from home is probably best.
------------- cheers

You will be fine. Has someone has said sense of humour is a must and wine and beer also a must. Just pack your essentials and just have fun. Have a great time.

Take as much kit as you think you may need. When you have been away a couple of days, make a note of what you havent used ,and when you get home , stuff it in the loft.------------- Corpogreen esq
