I am lucky I have a caravan and a folding camper and each time my Pennine wins hands down! The canvas does come off easily if needed. It is so much more versitile than a caravan and much easier to tow. I reguarly tow my Pennine into the South of France and Spain. It sits on the back of my car and I don't even know its there. The caravan is another story... I don't think my patience would allow me to tow it outside the UK! Whilst I have a caravan with deluxe fixed beds-again not a patch on my Pennine. The only thing that my Pennine is missing is a shower -but how often do you seriously use the shower in a caravan anyway? If its intended for family use the Pennine will give you much more space and can have underbeds, extra bedrooms on the awning etc. I think we would have had to have pulled about an 18 foot plus caravan down to Spain to have got the same amount of space that we had in our Pennine. For families, long distance, towing and quick set up Pennine gets my vote any day-caravan going up for sale! I also forgot to mention they also seem to hold their second hand value quite well if looked after!) Jean
