The small opening roof vent/light on the Tardis, and I guess the Clubman also is no longer available and the flexi hinge on mine has now gone, through old age (>20yr), so I need to replace it with the nearest equivalent which is the Fiamma 28 but it is a couple of inches wider in both directions. Has anyone successfully replaced their vent, which involes enlarging the square hole in their hardtop? Are there any particular problems I should look out for?

I would rather replace the hinge section with a new bit of plastic than start cutting holes!

Hi I sucessfully and easily replaced the vent on our 1988 cardinal last year. I bought a 280mm( I think) vent from ebay which fitted perfectly. you would need to measure your vent and do a search on ebay. itcost me approx £25 but was just a case of removing screws inside and out side and rebedding new one in flexible mastic and rescrewing.

just a tip remove out side screws etc before you put unit up and then do inside once up!
