Hello there, I wonder if anyone would be able to give me some advice please. I have just bought a creighton Binns Comfort, I'm used to the lay out of conways and I'm not sure what the lay out of the seating, cooker/sink unit should look like? Does anyboy have a picture of a Comfort interior I could have a look at or any instructions (happy to pay for a copy) It has an awning that looks like brand new but I'm not sure how it fixe on the front of the Comfort. Should there be any roof liners or bedroom compartmets? I'm also unsure whether it is 4 berth (2 end beds) or 6 berth as there seems to be extra boards in the cupboards. I would really appreciate any advice members might have. Thank You
-Creighton-Binns, a name from the Sixties, when trailer tents enjoyed something of a heyday (thanks, partly, to Barry Bucknall and his 'Mirror' trailer tent - D.I.Y plans published by Mirror Newspapers) The model you have is probably called the 'Double Top' - it was Creighton's biggest (in relative terms!) seller. Like other weird and wonderful designs of that period ('Campavan', for example) they have long since ceased production - a demise hastened by Sam Alpen (sp?) and his affordable range of 'Sprite' caravans. -C.B did, actually, produce a handful of models into the early 70's - by that time they were also doing a folding camper (I seem to remember that the name was 'Gold', something...) , designed to rival the Conway Cruiser. They always were at the more expensive end of the market - which, of course, is reflected in the overall quality. Your best bet is to make enquiries with the Trailer Tent Section of the Camping & Caravanning Club - someone there will have Chapter and Verse on every detail of every C.B ever made! www.trailertent.fsnet.co.uk
Just got this off google but it is a reply to your question already on another board I put it up in case you have missed it hope some one can help you

Hello Hoppity, I have taken a few pics over the weekend and uploaded a couple of the interior. I bought the camper off e-bay last week for the grand total of £69, it is in great condition and the only work I need to do is cosmetic ,the awning looks as though it has never been used! The only downside is that I've been trying to fill in a job application this week and all I want to do is fiddle with the camper instead! I'm puzzled by a vinyl strip that runs around the interior behind te seats and it has velcro on it, can't seem to work out what thats for but have managed to solve some of my other queries by reading previous posts, this site is full of useful info and helpful people!
Hi Heyjudex. Welcome to the world of Creighton Binns's! I would love to see some external shots and it would be goood to keep it as close to original as possible. Be prepared for much interest and many questions when you use it,
I am proud owner of one of (if not the) smallest of the CB creations which I tow with the motorbike. It always attracts a lot of attention wherever it goes. There should be a Creighton Binns appreciation society,

I did get your e-mail asking me what advice I needed and I replied also sending some more pics of the outside of my camper, I wasn't sure if you got that e-mail though? At the weekend I managed to fathom how to put the awning up and took some pictures of that, I've taken the canvas off the tent now as I'd like to reinforce the canvas in the corners where the bars are to prevent wear and tear before it happens! There seems to be a funny combination of electrics in mine, there is a mains hook up with 3 funny flat sockets on cable around the trailer, to plug lamps in I assume, there is also wiring 12v to fix to a leisure battery in the cupboard, needless to say my dad will be checking all that out for me, I haven't got a clue Let me know if you recieved my big list of questions and if not I will send them again, Thanks Jude
If you send your list of questions to me again and i'll send you the stuff that you'll need for your Binns
your camper is a 6 berth , 2 beds at each end and the dinning area converts into another 2 berths by using the dinning table a second table and the cushions rearranged
it has a built in kitchen (2 burner stove with grill + sink&drainer)
most had a foot pump for water
most came with an porch awning (ours has one) I think that yours has a full one which is rare
the extra boards that you found should fit into some slots that are in the ends of the beds
(they stop your head or feet going through the canvas when your in bed)
I think that we may set up up a web site for these very clever folding campers
were not sure what we'll be doing with our Binns as we may be downsizing to a Combi camp (Citroen 2cv Towcar)
it would make a very good project and would make an excellent camper for a family
