Hi, I am look for a bit of help. We have been offered this trailer tent and I have a question I would appreciate assistance with.
How concerned should I be with water staining on the canvas - the TT is an 80's model (Green/Cream) so I'm not expecting perfection, but don't know if this staining is an issue or not.
There were marks on the inner tents, but these have been washed a few times and although not completely gone seem fine.
The seller is asking £250.00 for the TT, which seems reasonable, is it??
Hello Lisa, Is this the one off ebay ? Just had a quick look and they seem to sell at very reasonable prices, highest listed was £400 but there is also one which went for £194. I suppose if the marks are just cosmetic and you don't mind them then that's fine, but it could mean the canvas needs waterproofing.
Regards
Cyndie
PS got rid of your sad blue face at least !
------------- It's only my outside that is geting older - my inside is 17 !
Thanks for the reply Cyndie and much appreciated. I was hoping it was probably just cosmetic and something we could live with.
My brother-in-law purchased off ebay and then decided to go for a FC instead, so he is offering us the TT. A repair is being done to the awning so he's only asking us for what he paid plus the repair, which seems reasonable (I think).
Lisa, having had a Corniche I would recommend them - mine was grey/red. They are lovely big tents once they are up. I would emphasis the comments made earlier, check the waterproofing as it would be a shame if the tent leaked. Ask your brother-in-law if the people he bought it from mentioned when it was last waterproofed.
By the way I sold mine for £400 with loads of extras so £250 sounds a reasonnable price.
hi we sold our conway campa in the summer for 250.00 it did have some staining and being it was 24 years old was in good cont, wish i could say the same at 38 lol. i would cheak the waterproof, but to do ours took about 8 ltrs at about £45.00 but i have read that you really dont have to waterproof as its designed to stop the water once the canvas gets damp, if you know what i mean its been a long day, i would check however all the push buttons and the springs on the poles, but they are very easy to replace and quite cheap,
if you do buy you will really enjoy, you just want to go away every weekend, we got our campa used it three times and upgraded spending 1200.00 on our big baby
Hi Garry and thanks for the advice - looking forward to the luxury of sleeping off the floor and being able to cook inside without fear of going up in flames!!
