Hi All

As this is our first winter with our Camplet we would be interested to know what other Camplet owners do with the canvas over winter.
We've read that the canvas comes off the frame easily for storage if needed. The poor weather has prevented us from opening up our Camplet and unfortunately It's not garaged and have to leave it in the drive.
So what do you do over winter leave it on the frame or take it off?

Regards     Jim

Never had a Camplet but have had a couple of Combi Camps which didn't come apart. They were stored on the drive over winter with no problems.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

I would advise removing the canvas for the winter.

The sleeping quarters come out easily, they are zipped over the frames.

The canvas runs on a channel around the base. Start at the centre furthest away from kitchen and work on one side then the other pulling to the front. It is a bit awkward around the bend and you may find it has to be eased a bit at the time.

I store my concorde in a garage and still remove the canvas; so outdoors I would say it is very advisable..

When shutting up the now empty fibreglass, leave a bit of toast in there to sop up any moisture

If you do not remove the canvas or sheet the trailer over when outside then condensation can form inside which will spoil the camp-let.If you sheet over, make sure everything is bone dry and inbetween the sheet and the camp-let use a cheap form of insulation such as cardboard or an old off cut of carpet.Best to remove the canvas and inners etc and then still sheet the trailer over. This will keeep it looking good for years.
I am in the trade and have seen 1 year old trailer tents near ruined purely down to poor storage.I have also seen 25\30 year old trailer tents still going strong because they have been stored with care.I would expect a camp-let to last at least 25 years.GOOD LUCK.
