Hi Pathwalker....We went in to Camping International to look at the above-mentioned porch awnings. When we asked to look at the figure of eight plastic runners as well to see how to attach it, they threw up their hands in horror and said that they didn't think the teeth on the zip would last very long with that attached to it! We also were not sure how flexible they were to go up over the apex. How many times have you used yours and how satisfactory do you find it?

Hi hoedown

The runners slide on so they don't damage the teeth and with the design of the awning there is no stress on the connection. There are 4 short plastic runners so you don't have to put one over the apex, we run one down on each side

We only got ours last year so only used it a couple of times with no problems, friends of ours in the owners club have the same one as well and also have had no problems.
