Firstly i am in love, just got my Rapido up and can't wait to use it I just love it.
This will be the first outing in our Rapido and we used to have a real caravan where we could put all our stuff in. Now we are limited on space in the Rapido so wondered what people managed to fit in and any top tips please. I have the export so have the front section empty.
If you keep the mattresses out and store them on top but below the cover, that space is available. The downside is that they're vunerable when erecting the 'van. Therefore I carry most things in the car including portapotti (empty- of course ) keeping the core stuff in the 'van. Some room for the bedding and towels is available within the wardrobe of our recordmatic. Less to worry about while stored too.
------------- Mavericks don't get to lead the herd - not that they want to!
Oh no can't put the cushions on top, thank though but I had to buy all new foam which was a great expense and then I had to cover the foam, so really wouldn;t want them damaged LOL
OK, modulate your packing in storage boxes that can be stacked in the vehicle and then stored under the 'van' when erected until needed. You can get boxes to fit the children too! Some of the 'underbed' storage boxes may fit under the trailer cover in lieu of the matresses.

I carry the awning, toilet/shower tent, wind-break, folding chairs & table, folding steps (3 rung) fishing rods under the trailer cover. Distributed to minimise height and adjusted for noseweight, of course.

I tend not to touch the inside of the van I leave it as it is.
However, I have two large plastic containers the same size as the front storage box which I fasten on top with bungees, they are solid and never move, I can get quite alot of food and other light bits and bobs in them. I have a small calor bottle and a small electric oven which I can also get inside the front box.
So thats the front taken care of. I don't carry too much under the cover, I do however like to to put coats, towels and other clothes on hangers under the cover though. The rest just goes in the boot.
I forgot to mention when we get to our destination, the plastic storage boxes that we have on the front box while travelling fit lovely under the large sofa, great for storing while you are on holiday, its nice when things have a double use.
LOL I have a roof box nomes, thanks but just thought the miles we travel it would be more fuel efficient to not use it LOL beside rob could do with a step ladder to reach ours when it's on.
Well I am impressed with what we did actually fit in it.
Memory foam mattress, all the pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, utencils, water bottle, sleeping bags, 3 chairs, table, suitcase gas hob, hookup lead with plugs, hookup lead without, lamp, long awning light, awning and a few bits more Basically nearly all our kit so not bad mind you the car still looked pretty full up LOL
Think I might invest in the plastic boxes for our clothes because I found that a problem with clothes in bags as they wouldn;t fit under the bed but them boxes would be ideal and ideal for packing the car I think.
We had the Rapido Confort and an estate car. Most of our gear was in plastic boxes. Clothes in 2 underbed boxes which fit nice under the 2nd double bed. The awning, poles, chaires and table we kept under the trailer cover. We had a tarp as a cover as the orig was shot. When we got the Rapido up. The boxed contents could be transfared from the car into the van. When it was time to move out. The boxes can be filled in the van and then transfared back into the car. This we found was the best and quickest way. A system used in my army days working in the stores. We have now moved on to an Estrell folding cara. Still easy to tow and sits nicely in my front garden. I think the Rapido was a very good design. It was 100% water proof. Its only downfall in my opinion was colapsing and erecting it in the rain this could be a problem. Oh yes and many hours sewing some awning tape on to a standard awning to get it to fit the overlap on thr roof. Long live the Rapido!
Have the export - cushions go on the floor on the settee side, other backs go in "toilet" section. Others go in end floor cupboard. other cupboard used for bedding, electric heater, baby george and elec 2 ring cooker goes under table as does porta potti etc. everyone finds their own place for things.
I have an export not including all the cushions pot & pans cups etc, kettle & utensils in it. I full NR Pullman awning & poles a lightweight porch awning & selection of pegs & storm straps. I have since found out that my fridge will fit the front box so I'll be shoving that in there. there's also 4 fold away chairs 2 windbreaks & fold away aluminium slatted table a TV aerial poles & clamp, A 50 watt solar panel beach mats, fan heater & 4 kites. All a bit of a squeeze but all fit inside. It's just remembering where to put everything when you pack up. I'm sure after a few outings we should pretty much know where to put everything. Only downside at the moment is all water carriers, bedding porta potti have to go in the car. So I'm in the market for a roof box to fit to the top of the rapido to free up some more space in the car.
