Thought i would share with you lot me new purchase, as i normaly use tents but wanted some thing a bit more easy to put up. Its a 70's model so i been told it has green sides and a white roof and was a bargain, and was wondering if any one has an old awning that will suit it going cheap lol.
How are you getting on with it? Could one person erect it? Please. I currently have a tent No space on drive for caravan so a decision bet Dandy , Combi camp & Camplet. There a Dandy on Preloved 1999 that looks reasonable.

Life is not a rehearsal--It's the real thing !
I believe the Sunncamp Scenic Plus porch awning will do the job or the larger Movelite porch awning I doubt you'll manage to find an original one though they're rare as hen's teeth. Think about joining the Dandy Owners Club!
Cryptian - The newer ones may have gas struts in which case they will be much lighter to put up, we have a Dandy Destiny (6 berth biggest one) and I HAVE put it up and down on my own but would only do it if I really had no other choice! I'm a 5'8" female type. Definitely worth a look at though

MIne needs a bit off tlc here and there, only brough it last night so not really looked at properly yet, i've looked at no end of small trailer tents, small caravans all being too dear, but i was thinking off getting a combi camp, but the main reason i went for the dandy was simply because there easy to put up and made out off pvc so need to water proof it, mines a 4 berth i would say and would be no problem putting it up on my own as i am a male lol, but two people would make life easy.
Tunstallwood - i didnt no there was an owners club for dandy's lol.
I have a couple more questions lol, would mini wheels fit the dandy as i dont have a spare and is there a way to find the date of when the dandy was made and thanks for the information so far.
Stamped on the A frame itself should be a number ours is something like 12345690L the last two digits ie: 90 are the year of manufacture, took me ages to find ours it's not with all the other Alko stamps but on the other side.
Not sure about mimi wheels, but take it to a local tyre place and they will be able to get you some, or google the tyre size and quite a few come up, ours are 155 R12s if I remember rightly.
Mini & Imp wheels are not the same size. The really old ones were off an Imp. You'll need to look in classic car mags for wheel suppliers. The newer 4 berth ones are 10" Mini wheels. New wheels complete with tyre are £32 from Towsure. Not sure about the 6 berth ones.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
