Hi all, just bought a Raclet Marathon (2003) trailer tent. It's in superb condition . Have put it up but not been away yet.

Any pitfalls re: this model or trailer tents in general.

Nope. Have you got the instructions? There's a Raclet Owners forum but it's a bit quiet most of the time.

The awning frame hooks that hook on to the main cabin frame can pull out of the poles on assembly. After one interesting day struggling with those I replaced them with M10 wall anchor bolts with the hooks on the end, bulletproof and will not pull out.

Thanks both for the replies. Luckily the instructions did come with it. Good shout regarding the hooks. When we assembled it on Sunday i did notice that 2 hooks had come out when we were packing away.

Thanks

we have the same problem with our raclet with the hooks, we lost one last time on putting it up and had to wedge in a tent peg still holding but trying to get replacements hooks this year not had any luck so far. any ideas where we can get new ones ?

we chose a aclet as the trailers are smaller to tow and store. we love ours we store everything in the front box and the units inside . it fits in our front garden and it stays there all winter ok. the awning on ours is huge but its great when you get a wet day. it seems to be a haven for my own 2 and many other children as there is tons of room.

enjoy your raclet.

Yep, we did the tent peg fix first time out.

Just do a google on 19mm awning pole hooks.

I bought a few before I realised they're all crap or don't fit properly. Do what I suggest if you're handy and get the anchor bolts (buy M8's if you're not as the M10's are a tight fit) or call Raclet direct although their spares man is hard to get hold of and tell him they're crap!

You have to file down the average anchor bolt hook to fit the raclet frame hole but it is the best fix
