Just thought I would post this in case anyone else had experienced a similar problem!

The luggage/roof bars that fit onto the top of our jamet trailer tent are too 'fat' to use the standard square shaped u bolts that come with both our halfords roof box and bike carriers - we had the same problem with the 'bespoke' roof bars that had been added on to our second hand small camping trailer.

I trawled the internet for hours to find some square shaped u bolts with a longer (what I now know is called) shank to no avail. Eventually I was recommended to a company called bendfast who made me some at a very reasonable price. For anyone needing to order some the size needed was a 6mm thread, 35mm internal width, 50mm length (you may need longer depending on how fat your bars are!) with 30mm of thread. I can't believe I'm the only person who has ever needed any - seems crazy you can't just buy them in Halfords! Ho hum, got some now, job done.

Alternatively get some studded bar from Screwfix & make your own with a hacksaw & a hammer.

Well OK you could I suppose, but you'd have to be fairly proficient with the tools to get it just right (I'm not!) and I actually didn't think it was an unreasonable price - £1 each.

£1 each does sound cheap enough.

That dose sound a very good price, I was going to say the Indespension trailer places they sell that type, not sure of the sizes they stock.

HI

When I changed my car I decided to have new Thule Aero bars for the foof rack. The original Halfords top box brackets were too thin. Our local Halfords stored orderd in a set of the new standard wide brackets. They fit fine.

They cost £25
