hello.

i have a dandy dart from about 1984 and the indispension units need replacing. however when i have looked at modern replacements they are completely different to the units on the tent itself. i dont really want to get rid of it..!

are there any solutions that anyone knows about out there? or can the units be repaired?

many thanks

Have you spoken to Ian at Riva? He can usually sort them out in some way. They aren't leaf springs are they? They can be rebuilt relatively easily.

Think this year is to follow old meet friends for 2014.
If you cant do someone a good turn, don`t do them a bad one,its nice to be nice you know, and little things mean much more later in life.

Riva did mine about 2 years ago for about £400.  They are a superb firm to deal with.  Sounds a lot, but in fact I couldn't get the parts for much less than that.  You get new suspension, wheel bearings & hubs with new brakes in as they all come pre assembled.  I know some of the older trailers had the suspension welded on. If that is the case you may need new mounting plates welding to the chassis.  Not a massive job, but you'll need to find somewhere that can set the thing up so that the wheels are aligned properly.  Lots of commercial trailer places should be able to help if you don't live near Wigan.

Steve.
