Been to camperlands today.Looking for either folding camper or quick erect trailer tent.Decided against folding camper because trailer too big and heavy and dont like the idea of setting up a seperate awning.
Is there anyone out there with a trigano olympe ?
Saw the camp-let and the Olympe. After 2 goes I managed to set up the camp-let on my own. What a cracking bit of kit.Love the concorde and have been advised to call back this weekend when the 3 day charity event is on as there will be some good offers on.Unfortunately could not have a go at the olympe but occasionally I may be setting the trailer up on my own, camperlands advised me that the beds are realy heavy so realy needs 2 people. Also say the jametic.
Has anybody got one of them ?If so whats your opinion on the set up and quality ?
Going back to camperlands on sunday so any advive B4 I get there ,make my choice and hand over my money would be greatfull.
Hi, I have owned a Camplet and now own a Pennine Pathfinder. I personally prefer the Pennine anyday. I can put ours up on our own and because they are so big I seldom put the awning up unless I am on a site for a few days. The other big plus for me and Pennines is that they always have a very very good second hand value if looked after properly. I have never lost money on one yet! There are not many things that you can buy, use a lot and sell for more than you originally gave for it! The camplet was fine but once you have experienced a Pennine.....! Good luck
I have a 2002 Camplet concorde which definately neds two people to open up as it is very heavy. Gas assist may make a difference but how much. Also be wary of the times quoted for set up. Pegging out is time consuming and fitting the underbed storage unit is fiddly and time consuming.
We have changed to a Trigano FC and the main unit goes up much easier and in a fraction of the time. We will only put up the awning for longer stays as the camper is roomy on its own for two people
The camp-let I set up the other day had gas assist and I managed it no problem.Going back to camperlands on sunday to make up my mind.A folding camper looks and sounds good but the sheer size of the trailer puts me off and I dont like the idea of the seperate awning.
I hope this helps.I use to own a conway countryman folding camp.I part exchanged towards a camp-let in 2006,No gas assist ,wish i had waited until 2007 when gas assist came out.
You are dead on about the awning on a folding camper,An absolute pain in the a--e.I would not swap my camp-let for anything apart from one with gas assisted opening.I have kitted my camp-let up to folding camper spec with fridge ,mains and 12 volt electrics and a couple of good lights.
The under bed storage is easy to fit so long as you clip it up to the the luggage rack b4 opening the trailer top. From start to finish I can set my camp-let up in less than 15 mins including the awning, which is about the same time as setting up the cabin on the countryman. The awning took forever on the countryman which was one of the reasons why I got rid.
We have just returned from camperlands, having bought a Jamet jametic. We were originally looking at the Trigano Odysee & liked it (it's smaller then the Olympe - about the same size as the Jametic but slightly nicer design) We'd rejected the Trigano Olympe as it's too big for us & we felt we wouln't use the space.
However, we were very impressed by the Jametic which has several features we liked more than on the Odysee.
The Jametic is slightly more easy to set up, the lift up bed (to get to the storage area in the trailer) is gas assisted & both beds are slatted. Overall, the living area is also slightly bigger then the Odysee (but still smaller then the Olympe).
We were also told by the salesman that although Trigano & Jamet are in effect the same company, the Jametic is a better quality tent than the Triganos - not sure how true that is though as they both looked the same to us! We based our decision more on the feature which suited out needs.
Hope you have managed to make a decision - I've just realised this post may not be that helpful seeing as I'm writing it on Sunday afternoon, so hope your visit to camperlands went well!

We don't have a Jametic as such, but we have the Trigano equivalent, the Odyssee. Our first trip was this weekend, and setting up (with two of us) went very smoothly - maybe 20 minutes, without pegging out (which we did later, after a beer).
Doing it solo would be more of a challenge - the beds are fairly heavy, but it's the kitchen I would worry more about: it has to be taken off before folding the tents out, and it is both heavy and a very awkward size for one person.
Hello fellow campers
Thank you for your advice.Have been to camperlands.Nearly went for the jametic but in the end went for a camp-let concorde.I could not resist the hard top with luggage rack and the swing out kitchen on the camp-let.
Picking it up in a couple of weeks ready for the hot summer (according to the weather experts).
Jane, just wondering how you have got on with your Jamet Jametic. We are in the process of thinking about getting a trailer tent and we are torn between the Camplet (bit expensive), the Jamet Jametic and the chap at Camperlands suggested the Trigano Chantilly. We will almost certainly exclude the Camplet on price but I am torn between the extra space offered by the Chantilly. Would love to know how you have got on.
Congratulations JLR1, we have a Concorde and I can put it up on my own and I am no way a big lad, 5-5 and 10st wet thru. You just need to get the lift right and the monmentum will carry it over, oh! you need to get under it to stop it though!!!!!!!
We've now been out three times in our Jametic - it's great. It took a while to set up fully the first time with pegging out etc, but now we've got the hang of it, it's pretty quick. The zip in ground sheet is a god send - easy to zip in after 1st go (make sure you leave the zips in the right place) and easy to clean too (The groundsheet is something not included on the camplet)
There is plenty of space in the tent and loads of storage too. We have had the table set up inside & still found it big enough for all of us. There's even enough space for the children to play undrneath the second bedroom. Beds are very comfy too although quite high - we have bought a little step stool for the children to get in and out of their side.
The only real downside is that kitchen is heavy to move around but you should never have to move it far & is fine with 2 people. We've worked out that the best thing for setting up is to take the kitchen off & put it at the front edge of the tent, get the groundsheet in, then move the kitchen back into place.
All in all we're really pleased with our Jametic. Not quite so pleased with the customer service from Camperlands - but that's another story!!
Good luck with your decision.
Jane
------------- The glass is always half full - unless it's wine and then it's usually empty!
We got ours Jan 07 - so not gas assist. I put up with my 12 yr daughter, we both 5ft- ish, so can be done, with regard to the underbed storage, I don't clip onto roof rack,I use my bags to fill it out - another tip, when first erect put peg in front by door then zip on storage, then peg rest you may have to move first peg, but I find gives me a chance to think/arrange things and handy if windy/raining!
