We bought our Pennine Sterling from them in 2006 and had a very good experience from them, very good aftersales etc.
3 years later, its now Discover, and the folding campers and tents have been shoved to the end of the sales area, outside, no care or attention given to the campers so if they were trying to flog them no one would buy cos they looked so shoddy.
Barrons was bought out a while ago by Discover. There has been quite a bit of correspondence on here over this. They are in financial difficulties & have already closed branches. Look HERE & HERE. One recent post said they were stopping selling TTs & were open to offers for what stock they had. Not sure I'd be shelling out any large sums of money to them any time soon. Others say the staffing has gone to pot with people who knew what they were talking about being replaced by teenagers. I have noted that stock seems to be being run down at our branch. They haven't had basics like gas cylinders & Coleman fuel on my last couple of visits. They did have a large stock of caravans & motorhomes that must cost quite a bit to have sitting around...
They are a large firm who bought lots of other fairly large compaies to expand just before the current financial situation came about. Wouldn't be surprised if a few more branches were to be pruned.

Won't be back me thinks :(
Couldnt agree more. Barrons used to be a good place to visit but it is awful now.
I went there when I was thinking of getting a folding camper. As you say, all the tt/fc were stuck away in a corner, no prices on them, and when I asked one of the sales assistants about them he said he dodnt know much about them, didnt know what price they were, but if we wanted he would try and find some info on the computer but it might take a while.
Needless to say we didnt bother.
We went to the upstairs looking for something and there wasn't a single assistant there at all, no one to get help or advice from and we waited a while..
We gave up and went. Like you, I wont be visiting there again.
We got ours from then but knew what we were looking for. They didn't really know what they were doing with fcs and thank goodness our friend (who had bought one a week or two before) had already warned us that his fc had bits missing and also fortunately he knew what to look for and what should be included. They were pirating bits from off other campers and whilst we were there took parts from another fc so ours would be complete! Even so, when we got home there was a few bits missing but after a rather long correspondence we managed to get it all. Mind you, the fc was a bargain!!!!!
