You should be ok

We have a 1.6 Ford cmax and our little caravan is about the same weight as the continental (750kgs) Not great up hills, as I have said but ok

Have a look in your handbook - it will tell you your towing capacity - my 1.4 mg copes fine with our Fiesta (1000kg fully laden)
