Almost at my one year anniversary since we purchased our Raclet Tamaris last year! - and have had many a happy camping trip in it with no problems (apart from the electric issues when I purchased it last year!) - Got a 2 trips in July down Somerset/Dorset, and 2 weeks in Holland in August to look forward too! - so I am a happy camper!
However reason for the post was I have question about the poles.
Been noticing that the spring poles are getting stiff/sticky... Has anyone got any good tips on lubricating them? - Ive heard furniture polish? - but don't want to risk the canvas... Is there anything on the market that's good?
Fabsil is silicone based and makes a great pole lubricant. You can get it in small aerosol sprays in camping shops and a little bit squirted on the extended pole works wonders. Obviously it won't damage the canvas but don't use too much on the poles and wipe off any drips, because it can darken canvas a little.
