i just been given a massive tent it has a sleeping cabin each side of the tent and living area in the middle some poles are fiberglass black and some poles are gray plastic .
i have been told to put the outside up first then attache the sleeping cabin inside.
i like to know how easy or is there a special trick how to put this thing up ?
as i say it has 2 sleeping cabin each side and look about 4 people can sleep in each cabin.

there is no instruction and no colour coded poles.
it is quite large.
Thank you

count the amount of and length of poles ,most probably will be the same size so go in similar places ,the greys will probably have a bend in them? probably porch poles etc.
go to a tent seller and look for an identical one or similar shape and take notes .

when you get a frame tent with all its poles loose then you have a problem

If it's a frame tent, once you have sorted out which poles go where don't put them fully up, leave them on their 'knees' (where they come apart about half way down) - hope that makes sense - then put the canvas over the frame and fix it to the frame -they usually have some way of tying the canvas to the frame on the corners - then fully erect the frame and peg out the corners - if it's windy then put out the guy ropes to keep it stable before fully pegging out, you can always adjust them later.  The Inners usually just hang from the frame by way of clips but it depends on what tent you have.  Good Luck

"some poles are fiberglass black and some poles are gray plastic"

It's unlikely to be a canvas and frame tent then. Their poles would be steel, and go inside, with the canvas over the frame. Your poles will likely go on the outside, holding the tent material up, threaded through sleeves, yes ?

Is there no makers sign on it, or sewn in instruction/information sheet inside, may be in the bedroom bits ?
