i still can't believe it, no really i can't,october half-term is low season in both the caravan&camping club and the caravan club sites,no i still don't think it is true ,even though i have just booked for then at scarborough. i did check as well when i booked, this is a nice change don't you think?.
I made a booking last year for October half term, only to find that our authority was the week after!!!
Hopefully this year we will match the rest of the country especially as i have changed authority for my job but my children will be in a different authority, I wonder if anyone will notice if i wag it??

We often go away in Half Term. I bet the weather is better than it is now. Can't be much worse. We have had some really good weather in October. Just a shame the days are shorter.
I DONT THINK IT MATTERS HOW SHORT THE DAYS ARE ITS THE COMPANY THAT U ARE IN THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE COS IF YOU ARE IN UR AWNING WITH THE LIGHT ON U CAN STAY AWAKE ALL NIGHT
I HAVE BEEN ON WILD CAMPING WEEKENDS WHEN WE DIDN'T GO TO SLEEP UNTIL IT WAS STARTING TO GET LIGHT AND ONLY ONCE DID I STAY AWAKE ALL NIGHT ,DAY AND WENT TO SLEEP AT CLOSING TIME AT THE PUB
FIAR ENOUGH IT TOOK ME THREE DAYS TO RECOVER BUT THATS THE FUN
Good god you mean THEIR off again in october looking forward to my DEAR (expensive way) Daughter going back now tells me she's got TWO extra days off due to inset day and new starters day before she has to go back. Does this mean under goverment's new laws her school owes me two hundred quid
I took my wife and mum in law plus 3 dogs to christen our new Rangers 575 LX to North Wales. The unit took all the wind and rain that Wales could throw at us as was great but do not go to Wales till next summer. Specially with children.
Wellllllllllllllll I'd love that too. There are places for that sort of sport in Wales in Oswestry I think.
As for campsites ....... the Forestry Commission campsite just outside of Beddgelert is really nice, specially when the sun comes out (bout twice a year I hear) and the scenery is utter magic. Prices are good too. So if you want to get into the heart of Snowdonia, it's a good campsite. But, having said that, if you want clubhouses and swimming pools etc for the little ones, it would be best to find another one perhaps in Betswycoed on the A5.
Oh yessssssss nearly forgot, Bala is smashing in summer and again very pretty.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
