hi all ,just been suckered into buying a old dandy off ebay ONLY 215 and 200m , round trip like an idiot i didnt check chassi (till home) anyway rear legs holding and rear chassi bar corroded to hell front not good either(oh and no spare as advertised), seller listed for friend etc have got her up on drive rained last night and bone dry inside.any advise on binning it or should i wait till bomy night?
Most back street garages can do this, get round several, take photos ask how much. As it's not normal car work prices will differ. But I think you will find one at the right price.
don't destroy it, if the rest of it is ok then the chassis is repairable, if you don't want to put any more money in then give it to someone that would, but don't give it to any one you know, as when they have spent a few hundred pounds on it and are still using it in 10 years you will be even more p**ss*d off.

------------- they said it couldnt be done so i left it and went camping
a bad days camping is better than a good day at work
dont you know anyone who can weld or another member in your area who does i can but i live in plymouth and own my own mig their must be other members out their who could help that live closer to you
You are covered for this by E Bay. Have you lodged a complaint? If the thing a was not as described you should be entitled to your money back. I did this once for a set of DVDs that turned out to be dodgey Chinese copies. Money was back within a week & they took Police action on the seller. he was thrown off E Bay. However, as already said, A Dandy is a fairly simple beast to work on. the frame is box section steel. it can all be got at, so can be cut out & welded. If the fabric is waterproof it may well be worth getting it welded up.
thanks steve, would love to keep supposed to be taking kids in it in 2weeks ,pvc bit grubby but watertight everything there including 2 sinks? so no worrys there, did query riva rough quote 2 to 300 quid ,got welder to look ok no dandy expert but he said could be done ,1 box section for rear 6ft3approx and 2 sections for front either side of towing v 45 quid labour plus parts, lets go ,not to sure about how hes going to do back section wire running through box sect, and need to some how move bodywork section away from chassi without braking if u no what i mean, phew me heads wrecked man time for a cool one ta , sean.
