Hello :) We've just upgraded from camping to now owning a Fleurette pop top (we've nicknamed her Poppy!). We don't know too much about her except that she was built about 1990 and seems to be in good condition. We're just doing a few bits of general maintenance and then I think she should go off for a proper annual service just to check everything over. We hope to start getting out and about and staying at sites :)

I'd love to hear from others with pop tops and perhaps meet one day! I did have a quick look on the folding caravan club site but couldn't get into the chat section - is that still up and running?

We don't have the original awning but a sunncamp aspect (in very poor condition but hopefully it'll last a few trips). I've put it together but I don't think it's right - the roof/head heaight of the awning is much higher than the rail on Poppy. That can't be right? Surely rainwater will then flow back onto Poppy - that can't be a good idea can it?

Many thanks :)

Hi Poppy,

We have also called our Fleurette 'Poppy' we bought her last August she was born in 2000 and is in immaculate condition. We got her from Campers and Leisure near Ringwood, and they do awnings for pop-ups, which is something we will get for next year, we hope you get her up and running soon, our Poppy is a joy and we love her to bits.

regards patricia ann

kege62 - Thank you! I've joined now... I'm 'Poppy_the_pop_top'

Patricia - Thank you too! I know Poppy isn't the most original name but my husband suggested it and it's already stuck! Glad to hear you love your Poppy :) Lookng forward to getting to know our Poppy better soon. I have actually just visited Campers&Leisure as they are just down the road from me. Not sure if our budget can quite stretch to £300 odd for an awning at the moment! It was nice to nose around the old folders and some of the newer pop tops though!

I am just now rec0mmisioning our Fleurette. Lovley, well-built caravan. I am trying to reconstruct the roof lift which is bent and rusted. I have ordered new gas springs and some aluminium channels which control the lift of the side panels of the roof. If anyone has done this job before I would love for any guidance. Also the roof itself seems very thin and far to flexible and forms puddles which are slow to drain. I was thinking of overlaying the roof by UPVC soffit (very light and insulating)
It would be great to see an owners club formed on Facebook

Hi, I am in the same poeition. Nine of my lift mechanism are present. My roof was held down by four 3" leng bolts through the side of the roof. Each had drilled through the side skirt springs. I'v been looking at tophung window control arms as the originals are mwchanisms seem nobtainable.
I hope yours is working OK now.

I'm all in favour of an owners club. Ours had lost its roof at some time and had all the tracks ripped off and the ceiling lining stripped. Nearly fixed now, just short of two tracks.
I need to service the fridge but can't get it out, also fix the electrics as the rectifier on the main panel had burnt out. All go as I need to go to a show in mid-may.
Must push on....

I have a Fleurette Tamaris 31 pop-top. I have had it three years but it's about 20 years old, but still doing well. It is suffering damp in one wall, and was thinking about a repair.
I spruced it up by giving a good clean and getting some new decals which was made for me from pictures of the faded originals. I posted somewhere on here where I got them from.
I too have had no luck tracing brakes and wheel bearings. I had a caravan mechanic look at it and he couldn't identify the parts either.
I do have the "handbook" (very basic printed sheets) and colour brochure of all the models which seems to be very rare.
One thing is that is easy to tow 195cm high and only 180cm wide (no wider than my car) and it certainly attracts some looks against the other large caravans we seem to meet up with.
I would be interested in hearing from anyone with the same, even if it is just to swap tips on keeping them going.

Have you tried looking on this website? https://www.autow.com/products/trailer-parts/suspension-spares
I've used it for some spares for my Tamaris

Hi Ukdel - would be very interested in seeing the colour brochure, as there seems to be dozens of models / variants and I can't make head nor tail out of it!
