In previous years we have amused ourselves playing 'Spot the Folding Camper' while out and about. They are relatively rare even on sites(honest). Cudos being gained for spotting a Pennine and extra appplause for identifying a Pathfinder... I know, we're quite a sad family! This year while in the Vendee, on our main site there were 4 Pathfinders and a couple of Pullmans plus a Sterling - not unusual I hear you say, but this is a small site - if this is repeated in all the sites in Europe - are Pennines taking over the camping world? We were told when we bought our Pennine that there were relatively few campers produced per year and that the retaillers had great problems getting units over their quota.
The final point of interest - on returning home, up the autoroute, we happened to call at a motorway eatery. On pulling into the restaurant carpark - very quiet - apart from ... 2 Pennines - both Pullmans from different years - we parked alongside - who wouldn't?
We're saving up for the other half Charlie, folding campers buy it in instalments. You going to Brecon that is at least three bones I've got to pick with you!
------------- Good friends are hard to find, difficult to leave and impossible to forget.
No Jan p sandy balls will be last uk one this year having a weekend at bristol when we take mark bck to uni and maybe a late one at bath when we pick him up again
Driving from Leeds to Norfolk a couple of weekends ago for a boating holiday my partner (who I have have just persuaded that the best thing to buy with an unexpectedly large windfall is a Pathfinder) took great amusement from spotting folding campers and getting me to identify them without looking at the names on the trailers themselves! (He will not actually be a camper until next year when the Pathfinder joins our family, but I've been one since I was 12). I was amazed at how many I saw, and yes, most of them were Pennines!
We had a Conway last year and we rate them highly. The new models are becoming more Penninish though. I didn't realise until recently that Pennine don't make trailer tents.
Hi Elaine & Roy - I remember you from last year at Billing - was inspired then with your pennine - good luck with the Pathfinder, we love ours - very handy with the oven/hot water/loo etc - well worth it - enjoy yours
