Don't panic- they're all quite easy! You don't say what year your Folding Camper is but I have a newish one. I have had lots but will try to help! We have found it easiest to build the frame for the awning first but not fully extending the height poles. Then zip on to the main unit, raise the height poles and fit everything accordingly. If yours is the same as mine I will scan the instructions in for you. The waste water pipes etc. are straight forward. Outsoade below the sink area are small grey boxes (2"x2") lift the flap and thats where you connect the hose to and then into your waste water butt. We have recently bought a Pathfinder (which I think is pretty similar to the Crusader) , and struggled hugely putting up the awning the first time. It was so difficult to zip it to the camper - because we couldn't reach and the zip kept catching.  In the end we realised it was MUCH easier if the centre poles on the camper are let down so the apex is not so high and the canvas less taut.  The second time we put it up the zip seemed to be much freer. And practise makes perfect! So you know which pole goes where, label them with a marker pen. We are off at the weekend too, to the Isle of Wight. Weather forecast looks OK!

Thanks for the tips, the video was great and I am packing a marker pen to mark up my poles! This is a fab forum and everyone is so helpful. Hopefully it will ease the laughter of the other campers when we tackle the awning! Someone has said to me we need to clean the waterpipes out before we use it, is this true and if so how???

Apparently there is no such thing as bad weather only the wrong clothes (or pegs)!!!

Check it has the hose for the waste. If its like ours you will have two wastes one for the bathroom sink and one for the kitchen. You need two short lengths and a y piece and a longer bit to go into the waste container. You should also have a water pump (ours is blue and white).

I don't drink the water we use a separate 5 litre container and fill it. So we don't worry too much about the pipes. You can flush it by putting dilute milton in the aquaroll pumping it through and following with fresh water, personally I am happier buying one container of bottled water and refilling it all year.

Great Thank you, I think we will take drinking water seperate too for our first trip at least and then we can decide whether we want to sterilise the system. I feel much more prepared now with all this fantastic advice.

Hi Kirsty, we too had a Conway Crusader and great it was too I'm sure you will have a lots of happy times with yours. We have moved on to a tin tent now but have very fond memories of life under canvas.

One small tip, when you come to drain the water from the kitchen sink do it slowly. The pipework to the outside drain is not one piece so that the sink can be removed for transport. It has a tendancy to flood the little receptical in between the two sections if you are unaware of it. Look at the water draining from the back of the sink to see what I mean. They fitted a little washer in the drain hole to restrict the flow but it diodnt always do the trick.
