Does anyone have side storage brackets fitted to their trailer tent? I've just bought a trailer tent (Made by Erka) and I'd like to fabricate my own brackets as I don't imagine I'd be able to buy them.
Could anyone take a couple of piccies of their brackets to give me an idea, or even let me come and have a look if you're local to me?
I think you'll find that these stoarge are kept separate to the unit and are used only when you want to the trailer, one thing to bear in mind is that they could be as wide as your trailer ,so if you are looking for saving saving space you may find this is not the answer,as regards whether yiou buy why not try google and type in the trailer name and see if your lucky.
We have some of these, but haven't used them yet. I think they are more for longish term storage eg for the winter, as you can't leave them on whilst using the tent. Also they don't save much room, our unit is not much narrower when it's on its side when you measure from the bottom of the wheels to the top of the cover. Getting it on its side would also be quite a major job. Conway do make the brackets, so do a Google search & at least you'll get some pictures.
I had brackets for the Corniche, and can honestly say they were a complete waste of time IMHO. The trailer didn`t end up much narrower...about 6" if we were lucky...and it was incredibly difficult to turn on its side. Me and Hubby couldn`t do it. We needed the neighbours two strapping rugby playing sons to help.
Also I had to empty the cupboard areas of the kitchen and the storage boxes because everything was just going to get rolled around. We also took everything out the footwell to make it lighter to turn...still needed help.
I would check the height measurement of your TT before spending time on making a set, Jim...remember to add a little for the bars as well. Then take up weightlifting.....
