still undecided about planned camping this weekend in new (to us) pennine pathfinder due to the weather.  Have read lots of previous posts re facing the wind, using storm straps etc but lots also say that the underbed skirts are essential.   I am not sure that we actually have any of these though have not opened up all the awning kit bags and the previous owner was not sure either having not used all the bits of kit.   What are people defining as windy weather, (25 miles per hour expected where we are going) and advice please on  what to do with no skirts.

It probably does help deflect the wind a bit if you do have the skirts but as they don't go all the way round anyway it's all a bit academic you still have loads of draughts in the awning as it's not like a trailer tent.

The only thing I can think of if the wind managed to get under one of the beds and flip it up if it's not held down by the pegged skirts but the Pathfinder beds are attached to the body of the camper aren't they not like the Fiesta legs? If you are really worried and haven't got the skirts - try putting a cheap windbreak all the way round it might help to deflect the wind a bit.

I have to say having survived far worse on Shell Island 25mph is easy peasy.

We still.....haven't got skirts for our pathfinder, [1 of the jobs that never gets done] We have found that by putting a windbreak  on the end onto the wind it does keep the bedroom  a bit warmer, but if you peg the awning downwell and use the lower skirt, along the main body, you will not get too many draughts in the awning. We think that the awning seems to keep the cabin warmer as well.

Jan,, have finally found a supplier for the canvas to make my own u.b. skirts, about £95 so will probably give them a try. & keep you all informed
