Hi, thinking about a Pathfinder or Crusader and would like to ask owners about the new acrylic cover on the Conway models.  Does this mean the FC can be folded when not absolutely dry or the material dries much quicker than cotton canvas?

I've read through so older threads discussing pros and cons. I had a Pennine Fiesta years ago and the biggest stress to me was worrying about it raining the morning we were due to leave a site.  I'm interested in your opinions now the new material has been in circulation for a season.

Thanks

Hi

When I bought my crusader at the secc this year, I was told that the new material  wont absorb water the same way as the canvas,so allowing it to dry quicker.

If your unit has to be put down damp, I would still make sure you dry it  properly when you get home or asap

Hope this helps

You have a much bigger window of opportunity but it is not like a dandy.

We have a 2009 Cruiser and have found it to be a distinct improvement on the 2000 Sterling that we had previously. The material doesn't absorb water like canvas. Rain runs off and once it's stopped a good shake removes most of the wet. There is also no wicking of dampness through the walls as my wife found in the Sterling when her pillow pressed agaist the wet canvas. We have found that it dries very quickly and that we only needed to wipe the wet windows before folding away.

All in all, barring  few build quality niggles which have been sorted by Pennine, it's a great piece of kit.
