We want one too, for putting a couple more bikes on, but the price is a bit steep.  Trying to get one second hand is like looking for gold dust

They look good but what put us off was the fact you have to take it off the TT and faff around with the steadies before you can even start putting the canvas up.

Also, the rack, box  and anything else you put on it, have to come under the maximum payload of your TT. My Conway has a payload of 100kg (it's braked) and by the time I've loaded up the inside with table, chairs, gas, stuff in the side lockers etc I'm already pretty close to 100kg. The average bike weighs 15kg, remember, and you need a bike rack to hold it so even more weight.  So we decided not to bother. Between our estate car boot and the TT we've got more than enough packing space anyway for the four of us.The bikes go on the roof of the car.

We need to carry at least 4 bikes and as the kids get bigger, so do the bikes - lol. I'd love to take mine and oh's to france as well. I'm trying to persuade him to get a roof bike rack too, but he is reluctant as this would mean changing the ferry booking for the summer!!!

We have a roof rack that carries four bikes and a towball mounted rack that takes two ...if we put the smallest/lightest ones on the back, it doesn't foul our TT when turning as long as we don't jack knife it. Got to watch out for the nose weight here of course...it's not so very difficult to balance it though as long as your towcar will take a decent noseweight and the trailer is balanced correctly.

Some days though I think wistfully of buying a large transit with seating though.......

Hi - we're in the same boat really. I've seen your gallery pics - looks like a nice sturdy rack. Any chance you could send some more pics? I'm about to make one for our chantilly gl.

Thanks

sure as soon as i get tt out of garage i'll take some more detailed pics.mine was cheap to make as i already had the clamps from an old van and picked up the wide bars off ebay for £15 but the side frames are simple as long as you have access to welder.best bit is i only have to take top bars off as sides are low enough to open beds with them in place.

Thanks wongers.

What I like about yours is that you only need to take the top bars off - very ingenious.

I presume it's plenty strong enought to take 2 adult and 2 child' bikes? (it looks strong enough!)

Many thanks

We bought the trigano carry rack for our trailer tent. We went to put our older Thule bike carriers on for going away this weekend and discovered the bars on the rack are too deep for the metal bracket on the bike carrier to go round. Does anyone know if the new Thule carriers fit on the trigano carry rack (it's 30mm square bars) or do Thule sell new brackets? Any ideas welcome.

Thanks
