Hi,

Just got back from my first trip of the season last weekend! - When I was putting the awning up on my folding camper I came across a stuck pole, when I tried to extend it out. After a bit of pulling it came free and I discovered white deposits on the metal, and what looks like rust! - The poles (I think!) are zinc coated as they are gold like in color!

I sprayed with WD40 (carefully) and dried off then put up - with care to avoid the canvas getting any! - so all seems fine, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this before!?

I intend to look at it again at home and see if there is anything I can do! - but not sure what to do apart from getting a new pole!

Thanks, Matt

Had the same problem, just rubbed down with emery paper then sprayed inside and out with silicon spray, wiped off excess and no more problems.
