just letting you in on my latest stupid thing to do  We went to Jacksons of Arley to check out TTs, and thinking that I had a good idea decided to lie down on one of the beds- only to find that they hadn't stabilised it! The whole thing nearly rolled over . I'm sure that one of these days I'll be banned from going there! I'd be interested to hear of any of your stories of how you have shown yourselves up in public- especially when camping

If they've got TTs set up for display, they should have the legs and stabilizers down, surely? If only to prevent damage to the merchandise...and to stop the customers sueing them for injuries.

When viewing new caravans years ago I stepped into the shower closed the door only to find there was no handle on the inside. OH was in a different van and a family came in to view the van so I just pretended to be inspecting the shower! OH came in after what seemed like hours imagine my suprise when he explained I just needed to press on the door as it was sort of spring loaded!!

A pal of mine took his family to a camping show.He has a 3 year old son who said he needed the loo. While he was looking for the loo sign, his son ran off.He eventually found him having a pee in a portaloo that was on sale on one of the stands. He didn't say anything to the stand owner ,just picked his son up and didn't go anywhere near that stand during the rest of the day.

I'm just the opposite when we go to Jacksons. I don't trust anyone so go creeping into the units just waiting for them to topple over!

Sorry for laughing so loud at all your little mis-haps,couldn't help myself.

I  remember going to ikea several years ago and there was a stunning bath i just had to climb in to check length etc,on leaving i didn't lift my head high enough and around the edge of the bath was little glass bowls full of glass beads and candles

Yup it flew across the store shattering everywhere,i  get reminded everytime we go there

You have to laugh eh!

I went into a garage to have my wheels tracked and balanced.  I had my twin lads with me at the time, only very young, and had to try to explain why we had to go and what the man in the boiler suit had to do.

The easiest way to explain to them was by saying the wheels were a bit wibbly-wobbly.    When the feller came out and asked what I wanted done - yep you guessed it - I blurted out the the front wheels felt wibbly-wobbly.  A silence fell across the waiting room.  To add insult to injury, I could hear the term 'wibbly-wobbly' being banded about in the workshop between the fitters.

Some memories never go away eh.....
