Just as a point of interest, my car failed an m.o.t yesterday due to an insecure towbar.The bolts attaching the frame to the car chassis had somehow worked themselves loose .

Easily fixed and garage did this for me foc.

I know that towbars have have been part of a m.o.t for a couple of years now but can i suggest that when you have your car serviced you ask them to check towbar security to avoid inconvenience and as a piece of mind for the obvious safety reasons.
