I am looking for some old tent poles. - 4 to be exact.

They have to be steel, 19mm female end, 17mm male end.

I am not bothered about the length because I intend cutting them to length anyway.

Can anyone help?

Don't hold out much hope there!

I'm going down Caernarvon this morning there's a camping shop or two down there, I'll see what I come up with.

I have a couple which are as you require one 25" and the other 29".
Problem I am at the other side of the country and it is probably not worth the expense of sending/collection.
Have you tried a Camping/Outdoor outlet. I originally bought spare poles and parts of pole from Camping & general in Canvey for a few pence each. Not much use to you, but is there nothing in Caenarvon or Bangor?

Hi Stuart,

Just got back from Caernarvon - nothing doing at Snowdonia Adventure, they are all figreglass!

I actually need 4 poles which I can cut down to about 7" long but retaining the swaged down ends that fit into the next tube.  I'm not bothered about the spring that is sometimes fitted to give the tube a firm fit in the connecting tube.

It is apparent that as far as tents are concerned, steel tent poles of this ilk are now virtually obsolete, but there must be some lying in the back of garages somewhere doing nothing with the actual tent that they supported rotten with mildew

Certainly that was the case at my parents' house but they have all gone in the skip.

Hang on to them Stuart, and if I don't get anywhere in the next few weeks, I'll check back with you and perhaps we can come to some arrangement.

Brian

Hi BJS69, also North Wales which area are you looking in? If you put your location maybe someone could look in places where you are not?   if that makes sense?

Good camping shop in Towyn and am in there often. have seen steel poles there.

Hi Doglotdog,

I'm in the Conwy area - Penmaenmawr actually.

Is that anywhere near where you are?

Are you talking about the caravan city Towyn near Rhyll?

That's the one  ! The camp shop is on the same side of the road as the Wendover pub. I am just up the road.
