We used one of these which we got from Asda - this is a Tesco one, £34.99 Plastic Garden Storage BoxMy OH strengthened it and fastened it to the A frame on brackets and removable bolts, so it could be taken off when necessary. A much cheaper alternative to proper tt storage boxes, which aren't cheap even for second-hand.

Has anyone else done this? My husband is thinking of fixing a similar thing to ours as we can't afford £180 for a proper one! Any advice welcome :)

I would recommend putting at least a ply-wood base on/in it, if it doesn't feel strong enough.
Otherwise I would say it's a very good alternative to the over-priced manufacturers option. I'll certainly be recommending one to my brother, for his newly purchased conway tt.

The key thing to remember is not to overload any storage container fitted to the A-frame.

You will need to keep a close eye on the noseweight.

Thanks for the help. Husband was muttering something about checking my car manual for noseweight info. Will look at that link, thanks.
