hiya im new,we have started camping this year after buying a tent and all the bits last winter!!i always went in a caravan with my parents but hubby never camped so we got a tent to test if he liked it,he loved it as did our 2 girls who are now 2 and 1 years old.we have a vango diablo 900 so it was roomy i love it,hubby been looking at caravans and folding campers for last few weeks,we have limited space up or driveway tho and the best option for us is a fc as we can get it in the garage,we really liked the conway crusaders but after seeing one and measuring it we wouldnt fit it up,i was out yesterday i get back and he bought one of ebay!!!!im in shock its a 2004 conway countryman with everything in it.im really nervous lol,as i love the tent and just hope its ok we are picking it up a week on friday as its a far drive away and we are at a wedding this wkend,we were due to go camping that wkend so we picking it up and just going up to wales.it will be nice to have the extra comfort that our tent doesnt have ie couch, hubby over the moon,im not sure,i know i sound daft,we off to newquay in sept and we were doing the whole drive in one go from manchester as there is no point stopping over as it takes an hour to pitch the tent, good thing now we can have a stop over on the way there as with 2 toddlers its quicker to put up,any other countryman owners out there?can you reassure me please, call me daft and tell me im going to love it thank you for reading my long winded tale jo

Not got a Countryman but we've recently bought a Pennine Fiesta (same size/nearly a twin to your Conway).
Originally we spent a couple of years in a caravan but I really didn't like the hassle of towing and storing it. We then camped most of the last 10/15 or so years (still got tents) but wanted a little more comfort, hence the FC.
You will not be disappointed!
They are so quick to put up, and like you say, an overnight stop is no problem. Again, it's much easier to store than a caravan. In your case of not being able to garage it, there are covers available that don't cost an arm and a leg, to keep your camper outside in the winter.
The only downside is if the camper is taken down wet, you have to dry the canvas out ASAP, but you would have to do that with a tent anyway.
OK, it was a spur of the moment purchase but you'll love it! We've only had ours a few weeks and it's a fantastic piece of kit, we should have got one years ago.
Happy camping.
Mac.

We've had a 1997 Countryman for 2 years & have been very pleased with it.  Its very easy to tow & is small enough to keep in the garage.  I love the fact that you can sit outside the awning during the day, come into the awning during the evening & then at night time get tucked up in the cabin. Its brilliant to have an onboard fridge & cooker although it can get very hot inside when cooking.  Ours is slightly smaller than yours & we don't have seat backs. There is lots of storage - we keep everything we need in there. Now that our daughter is getting bigger we're finding it a bit cramped but the advantages compared to caravan or bigger unit make keeping it worthwhile. We used it without the awning once but didn't like it ( felt slightly exposed ) Putting it up gets easier especially if you have your own jobs to do. When your children get older they'll enjoy helping, like carrying the pegs while Dad pegs out the awning tc.  Our daughter fills up the water container & the fire bucket & keeps an eye on the dog while we're setting up.

You will enjoy it

Again, not a Countryman but a Challenger. We also went from a touring caravan to the Conway and we love it - you will too. We often use ours without the awning for weekends. good luck and enjoy.

We have a Countryman and our problem is that we like it so much that we use it most weekends and now the DIY jobs at home are mounting up.

Well done, hope you enjoy the Countryman as much as we do.

We have a conway countryman and you will love it. We have camped with a tent for many years, with three children. We bought our countryman this year and it is so easy to get set up, with ample room in it to pack up all you need for your camping trips. The great advantage, we have found, is the fact that everything can be packed inside for the camping season, so you can just throw in your clothes and food and you can be on your way. This is a great advantage when you have young children. Ours our teenagers now, but would have found this much easier when they were little, rather than having to pack from scratch when we were tenting.

Hello.
We have spent our first night in our Conway Countryman. It didn't take too long to set up the cabin but when it came to the awning, the total time was 5 hours!! When the awning blew off the poles in a gust of wind, we could have cried... Im sure we are not putting the awning up properly... Is there a best method? Thanks 😊😊

former owners of a countryman, and fiesta, after erecting the main cabin, you need to zip the awning on first of all, throw it on top of the cabin, set the poles and then draw the awning over, stretch the awning to fit extending the roof poles as you go ,pretty sure there are /were some tie ups near the upper angles of the awning you tied around the poles, these should keep your awning atatched to the poles at least, enjoy,
