Thanks for your replies,we have now decided to ditch the tent idea and stick with the fiesta for now,but who knows we might end up with a tin tent. Terry
Mmm, if you find towing a FC a chore, you wouldn't want a caravan! I agree with all the previous posts about the setting up time of a tent. We sold our caravan and went back to a tent for a year but I forgot about the shear amount of packing, heaving and unpacking you have to do. Another thing I'd forgotten is how much colder I was in a tent, so I had to buy extra warm sleeping bags! Beds are a big problem too, we bought folding beds and fat airics to top which all need to be carried, then we had to buy a trailer to carry it! This was all very time consuming and expensive and I still had to tow so I thought I mights well get a FC (which is what we had before we bought the caravan)
I think it's easy to overlook the advantages and concentrate on the negatives of a particular unit. For me, a FC gives a degree of comfort a tent can't offer without the sheer faff of a caravan. Glad you are sticking with yours
Well we bought a Pennine Fiesta last week cant wait to go camping in it , we put it up on the drive at home this weekend took 20 mins not bad saying we never done it before , as for Towing we travelled 112 miles away for it i have never towed anything and was scared to bits we have a 1.2 Fiesta zetec came home through North Yorks down a 1.4 gradient onto the A1 , M1 then M62 without bother at all what a great camper these things are .
We just got our 'new to us' Pennine Sterling at weekend and it too went up on the driveway. No problems with the camper but getting the awning up was a bit trickier. It (the awning) came straight down again but at least it won't be such a drama now the first time it comes out at a campsite. We have had a Wynnster Satellite 6 tent which was great for our needs until our sons grew too tall. We then traded up to a huge Wynnster Raven 8 but have only used it once - it was a bit earlier in the season for us and there was a ground frost - I have never been so cold in my life! The OH and I are running downhill towards 50 now so comfort counts. Come Easter the tents are definitely going on ebay and there will be no going back!

we had a pullman at one time, moved it on as it was too big just for the two of, we went to an older raclet tt, and hated it, colours and sey up we used it once!! went pack to pennine this time the fiesta, and wondered why we EVER thought of getting the raclet, however!! we have moved the fiesta, albiet reluctantly, and have now a trigano oceanne, this weekend we are off for a week to sussex. time will tell if we have done "the right thing" but i would say STICK WITH YOUR FIESTA rather than a tent, comfort off the ground and feeling dry wins hands down
we did our week in sussex[Catesfield nr Battle] and the unit went up well and we were pleased with it overall, so it stays with us for another year at least, so much better on the eye than the raclet.. yuk!! but the Fiesta is still in my visions[again!!]

We previously had tents moved onto caravans and finally got our first Fiesta in April this year, but found it too small so we exchanged it for a Pullman, absolutely brilliant for space and only takes 1/4 hour to set main unit up much easier than the fiesta is. I was pleased at the weekend I even managed to beat a caravan in set up time that arrived at the same time.
No way would I consider going back to tents or caravans, it really is the best compromise of all, all the luxury of a caravan with the feeling of a tent, we wont change for some time
