Could anybody suggest an alternative gazebo/shelter or attachment for a sunncamp trailer tent, instead of putting up the full main awning..

Even though i love my sunncamp 400 and putting up the main awning is something we are getting used to, i was wondering whether anybody else had any suggestions for a weekend away alternative...

Cheers..

Does Sunncamp not make a seperate add-on sun canopy that can attach to either the full awning or to just the trailer? If not you might be able to use the Universal Sun Canopy that TVS make for use on Conway TTs. I have one (see profile pix) and can use it just with the cabin. It attaches by ties to O-rings above the three roof poles of the cabin and by a ridge pole that goes through the little hole at the topmost  ridge pole where the awning ridge pole usually connects. No sides, but it's robust and provides quite a bit of shelter.

If you go down the gazebo route,be aware that some sites don't allow them.

Val, your universal sun canopy looks really good, and may work with our FC. I looked at the TVS site but couldn't see it listed. I'll give them a ring.

Hi,

I used to have a Sunncamp 450 and the 4mtr awning was far to big to put up just for a weekend away or a short stay,so we bought a 2.5 mtr awning which is made for a Sunncamp 350 and the zips etc fitted,we bought this from Sunncamp itself,it cost us approx £500 but at the time it was well worth it.

Now we have got rid of the trailer and gone for a FC and to be honest i would never return to a trailer tent.

Whilst we were away we saw a couple with a coleman event shelter. It was big and has atleast 3, if not 4, zip on sides. They had a small dome tent and they put the shelter over the entrance so had a really large living area/canopy with the sides zipped off. Might be worth a look.
