We don't seem to be able to keep the centre roof pole on our concorde in place. We pitch and peg the canvas very tight, and then put the roof pole in afterwards. It all seems stable enough, but each day when we return after going out the roof pole is hanging from the front cross pole. We asked Camperlands and they said to peg the canvas tighter at the front but this does not seem to make any difference. The pole that is a wardrobe bar between the beds slides up at the back and we don't know what to do to stop it.
hi what we do is, we put the centre pole in postion first by the window part then give it a good push towards the beds part and screw it tighly we have had the camplet for two and half years and the pole never fallen down cant help with the wardrobe bar bit cause we never use it
I'm pretty sure we always pushed the wardrobe bar as far up at the back as it would go, and we never had any trouble with it, but that centre pole always fell down. We have one in the new tt as well, and we've had times when it doesn't move and times when it won't stay in. I think its about being dead level tbh: if there is more movement in one bedroom hoop than the other it will fall out. It probably would stay in better without the wardrobe pole, but with the concorde we were told it was necessary, and it definitely is in the Jametic, so I'm buying a bigger spirit level and trying to train the husband!
If you think its might fall try to fasten it up with a bungee, because it really hurts when it lands on your head.
We never had a problem, but check your hand book for the diagram, as I remember seeing a camplet on Ebay for sale, in the pictures, they had got the centre pole completely the wrong way, it made me laugh, thinking they had been using it like that all along !
have you go it the right way round at the bedroom end?
The little hooks should fit round the pole. The wardrobe poles should be above the rubber stoppers on the bedroom hoops
We have a Royal and the same happened on this.I bought some velcro straps for 80p from Homebargins and fasten one each side over the flat end of the centre pole then over the top of the bedroom poles, the straps are smooth on one side so don't rub on the roof, never had any probs since.
Suggest that next time you put it up,make a mark on the thinner part of the pole at a measured distance from where it slides in to the outer. Then ,if it comes loose again, measure the mark,if its nearer, you know that the pole has shortened,eg the screw is faulty,or you haven't had your weetabix before tightening it. I put mine in after fully pegging, and make sure its under a fair bit of tension, and if the wardrobe bar is in as Stuart says, all should be well.
