Hi posting this again here 'cos I posted it as a query for an ordinary caravan, which its not!

I'm doing some repair work on my Rapido Club 31T. I need to remove the front pop-up flap as I have to replace the cross member that the flap is hinged on to. I have released the two pivots at the top end of the stays so that the roof can now be lifted independently of the front flap. The flap is sprung ( quite strongly) into the vertical position and I think I need to release the tension in the spring(s) ( and restore it later!) so as to be able to remove the flap. Can anyone give me some guidance on this please?

Regards

Hi sorry cant be lots of help on that one but i have a fleurette 31 ts which has gas struts to assist in lifting the roof. I would guess that you need to anchor the springs in the closed position first then remove them. Hope this helps a bit. Kev
