I already use the wardrobe as a cupboard with some cheap plastic drawers in there. It means that even little creepy crawlies do not find their way in.
If not using for food I would keep the wardrobe anyway.
It's not really about the storage as I could put things on top of the bed anyway, I was just thinking that since we definitely don't need that bed for the France camping trip, maybe could leave the mattress behind to reduce the weight load and maybe allow more things to travel, but will put back in once back.
