Hi Guys

Some help please!!  I have purchased a Carefree Awning Tie Down Kit but there are no instructions as to how this thing actually goes together.  There are two huge pegs with hooks which obviously go in to the ground and then there is one huge spring, one 11m length of webbing with a metal ring in one end and then there is a shorter piece of webbing with one ring at one end and two rings at the other.....any ideas of how this pieces together would be greatly appreciated.....

as you say the two ground ancors go one each side of your awning then the ring on the long strap connects to one of these,the strap goes right over the awning to the other ground ancor.on the second ground ancor the spring goes first then the short peace connects to the spinng with the single ring and the long peace of webbing feeds though the double ring to tighten.

also a good idea to put a twist in each end of the webbing to help stop noise,aswell as something to stop the strap from rubbing the awning.

I was advised to run the strap over the furthest end from the trailer, going over the poles. I was also advised not to leave the strap on when not required because it will wear through the canvas of the tent.

I have only used ours once in anger on our Conway Corniche. It worked perfectly, the trailer held one end of the tent down and the strap held the other.

To fit put the pegs in to the ground about two feet from the side of the tent so the strap can go straight over the tent in a straight line. The strap hooks over the one peg and into the large spring which hooks onto the other peg. The spring allows for a little 'give and take' in the tent.

We are off to the East Coast in July and as you are probably well aware on occasion the wind can get quite nasty there as it blows in off the sea......just want to be prepared!!
