We finally took the TT out for a test run and it was great. But a few things cropped up and would like some advice from those with more experience.
1: How high should I wind the feet? Should the tyres leave the ground, still be driving level? Or sort-of tiptoed. Our first night was a bit rocky.

2: Although the canvass is like new (this is quite an old TT) the poles are all a bit bent. After help from a man from the next pitch I got the awning looking OK, but I was worried it wasn't really 'taught'. Will this affect its ability to keep watertight?

3: Facing the main body when open, the poles for the pod on the left were a bit lower than those on the right. I could see no way to get them higher. Also the highest one on left is bent, so it can't sit in its sleeve. Any ideas how this will affect the tent (particularly in bad weather?)

Any advice most welcome. Thanks

Hi. The tyres should remain on the ground. My understanding is the corner steadies should be used for steadying only and not take the weight.

We never get our awning totally taught. Our first time it concerned us a lot but after a few trips we realised it didn;t seem to matter.

I'm not sure about no 3!

Marie.

the trailer should still be on it's wheels, what i do is useing the jockey wheel lower the the front(jockey wheel end)so it is a bit lower than the front, then drop the rear steddies.now you can wind the jockey wheel out to level the trailer then drop the rear steadies.doing this takes a bit of the bounce out of the trailer.

you could use one of these to tighten the frame/canvas

there are normaly little buttons you push in and then slide the pole out to a new hole.

Thanks for the replies. I did check to see if there were button adjusters on the 'lower' side, but there were not.

Anyone else know anything about a bent mainframe?

Thanks

the frame adjusters could be right at the end where they meet the canvas.
