I generally hang around the camping under canvas section but am currently in the throes of debating whether to get a trailr tent. We are a family of 6 and currently use an Outwell vermont XL.

We like the look of the Cabanon Stratos / Neptune but have a few questions.

Is there much storage space in the trailer for clothing, toys, food and all the other bits and piieces that currently fill a trailer (though appreciate some of our bits will be built in like the kitchen etc).

In the event of a wet packdown how do you dry the main part of the tent, at present we have access to a hall where we can dry the tent (so will still be able to dry the awning) but what do yiou do with the main tent - put it up on the drive?

Any thoughts / comments on the cabanon ranger of TT's?

Can I get a bike rack that would fit on top of the TT?

Questionms, questions, questions but if I can get some answers it may help me make a decision!!

Can't comment on the cabanon in detail.  From what I remember of them, they have lockers under the seats at the edges of the beds.  On some, you can fill the gap between beds with camping gear.  Drying a canvas camper would require you to have space to put the thing up at home.  Unless you like mildew & a tent that smells like a soldiers sock & looks like a map of Helvellyn.  If you can't get space or the inclination to put the tent up on the driveway, consider a Dandy.  hese are PVC & can be packed wet without problems for months.  Funnily enough, I'm selling one currently...

Sorry you are having to sell your Dandy Steve

Regarding space to store things in a TT - yes, there is loads! When we sold ours, I can't believe how much we took out of it! games, kites, first aid kit, lamps - all sorts that I'd forgotten we had!

Ideally you need somewhere to open it up to dry, or you could take the whole canvas off and dry it indoors if desperate, it wouldn't be difficult to get back on again, just prolong the pitching time.

Cabanon TTs are great, as are their tents and plenty of choice in the second hand market.

Yes you can get bike racks. Think i have seen them at Penrose. Not cheap, but quite rare to get a second hand one.
