Just bought a 2006 Trig. There are 12volt plug points and i assume the whale water pump works via 12v. From what i can see it would appear that the power has to come from the second hook up to the car...is this right?
Is there a way to fit a leisure battery to the unit to save killing my car?

Give Camperlands in Manchester a call. They are dealers for Trigano FC and are very helpful. Surely with a water pump installed there would have to have been a leisure battery?

We have a 2009 Trigano 415 DL so assume the electrics are the same. You can run the supply to the camper either from a 240v hookup, or 12v from car. There is a transformer and circuit box inside camper which automatically produces a 12v supply for whale pump, fridge and 12v sockets when connected to mains supply.
They warn not to connect to mains and 12v supply at same time. It is possible to connect a leisure battery if you are on sites without mains hookup.
Thnx for the help. I can see the hook up for when you are driving but there does not seem to be a way to hook up a leisure battery. I have found the fuse box under the cooker unit but do not know if this will convert 240 to 12 volt automatically?
I can't see any way to get the 12 volt working.....obviously i am missing something

if your unit has any 12volt sockets then there is a transformer that converts 240v mains to 12v automatically. The unit under the cooker is not just a fuse box but contains cut out switches and transformer.
Check that both switches are in on position and you will get 12v supply.
I can send you a copy of the wiring diagram if that will help. We worried about this when we bought our unit but found no problems running mains and 12v
Thanx Manc....Problem seems to be that other than the extra external car hookup cable, I can't see any other way to get a mains or battery supply to the Unit. There is no other external plug in. I know the newer models have a plug-in socket on the outside of the van similar to the whale plug in but my model doesn't.

Suggest you contact OBI camping. They were very helpful when we bought our Trigano. Alternatively there is a Trigano owners group on Yahoo but they are not always active
I am awaiting someone to allow me into the Trig group....been waiting a week now:(
Thats right Wonger....no 240 socket on the trailer...just the 2 12volt car hookups. I have been told that the one that runs the water pump, etc whilst driving doesn't work when on site. So i see no other way of getting power to the unit without the unless i customise the electrics.

Hi I have a 2005 trigano 415 dl and in mine the battery goes in the cupboard where the fuse box is, the cables with battery terminal clips were already wired in there ( along with a battery strap to stop it sliding about ) when I bought it, this powers the sockets and pump. There is nowhere to plug a 240v cable.
I recall someone else on here sometime back with the same problem they didn't have any battery cables either. Its strange as I would have thought they would be standard with 12v electrics
------------- If it wasn't for the last minute nothing would get done
We also have a 2005 trigano 415dl and our battery is kept in the front box, this is where a set of crocadile clips connect to the battery. Then the grey electric hookup plug goes into the connector on the front box which then feeds the whale etc with 12 volt energy. Check your front box for the crock clips.
