We installed a plinth heater to our pathfinder. Think its a 1.8kw but not sure. It cost £23 from B&Q and came with remote control. It works a treat and warms the camper up in no time.

I havent found any better solution than fan heater if we are chilly whilst not in bed and oil filled radiator at night, mainly to keep just enough warmth to prevent damp. The most effective solution I have found is to 'tog up'. My daughter wore pyjamas under a fleecy sleepsuit when she was tiny and sometimes a hat. Now she's 10 yo and 5'2" i have to make them myself, but she has always been plenty warm enough with that and a good sleeping bag.
you can buy them for older kids and even adults these days!

We have no children so we light one gas ring on the cooker top. 5 minutes and it's nice and warm and off when we are in bed
A little fan heater like ours works a treat also rather than use the gas rings.Wet heat verses dry. it also is set on a certain setting so goes on/off do not have to be concerned about getting up in the night to wee and find it cold.It also psues out cold air in a heatwave so you can use it when weather cold or hot. Not very expensive and a lot safer than using your gas stove. This is from Argos £15.99 thermostatically controlled (what I was telling you).
We use a fan heater similar to Beanpark's but I am looking at installing a plinth heater as I find the fan heater noisy at night, and if I switch it off then camper gets too cold!!
