We have just returned from 2 wonderful weeks of hols at Camping Delta in Locarno on the Swiss side of Lago Maggiore.

It was our first outing with our new Trigano Olympe TT (having moved from an Outwell SV8) and we had no major problems.

To anyone considering a similar move but concerned about the 'learning curve' required for TTs our experience might prove reassuring.

This was our rather last-minute 'intro' to the world of TTs:

Oct 10 - May 11 - Debating which TT to buy.

Early Jun 11 - Ordered Trigano Olympe from only dealer here in Switzerland.

27 Jul - Olympe delivered to dealer and sent for mandatory checks and loading certification.

4 Aug - Registered TT with Swiss DVLA and received number plate, took out fully comp insurance.

6 Aug - Collected Olympe. Received basic set up and tow bar/electric coupling intro from dealer (mostly in one ear and out the other!). Towed (1st time ever) TT back home (2.5 hrs at 80kmh).

7 Aug - Packed TT and car with all camping gear.

8 Aug - Set off for camp site. Managed to set up tent in 1.5 hrs despite really basic Trigano instruction sheet.

20 Aug - Took down and packed TT with no problems. Towed TT back home going round the hairpin bends of the Gotthard pass road as motorway tunnel had massive queue. Arrived home safely feeling like real pro TT owners!

21 Aug - Post hol blues! Can't wait for next outing.

OK so maybe we were lucky that everything fell into place and there were a few sleepless nights of worry, but in the end we were pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to make the move to a TT.

Finally, I have to say that our TT was loads more comfortable in all respects than our Outwell tent.

Welcome to the world of raised of the floor beds Now you wonder you took so long to change over.

Hve fun in your TT as we do in our FC. The time we went via the \gotthard Pass it was on a coach. Beautiful scenery as the country. But too many hairpin bends for us which look more like U bends every 50 yards or so oooops! sorry meters.
