What do other folding camper owners do about flies getting into the campers?

is there a mesh that can be placed over the cabin door so the door can be left open at meal times?

Thanks

We used to have a piece of flyscreen mesh which we attached via a curtain wire across the doorway - wrap wire around nearest pole and then hook it to itself (hope that makes sense!)  We had weights, like in a shower curtain, sewed into the hem at the bottom to hold it down.  Worked well for us.

We used voile net cutains as nothing gets through only air. As ordinary nets we found had small holes in as the little blighters those midges got in. But voile is so closely made nothing will. You could have it stretch from pole to pole and still see through the windows maybe diffused but still lets light in. Oh! that is something else they let inright across the door and more as if you have windows like we do either side of the door then one longer one in be-tween 2 smaller ones. You can still use the door as the stuff is so very light. Will be no weight at all on the wire or string whatever you use.

It would seem our unit are nearly the same so if you have the two little windows either side of the door it would work for you also.

We had  flys come in our unit, on all the last three  Campsites we've been on.

We also thought about getting some adapted mesh to fit the doorway, as it was far too hot sat inside with the door zipped up despite having all other windows zipped down to mesh, and also too windy/too many flys about to sit outside without the awning.

Hubby bought one of those Zapper Tennis Rackets, and they work well if you're quick enough, much better than the sticky stuff you hang up and dangle, and stick yourself to as you swing round forgetting where you hung it.

We've bought a one of them plastic streamer type flyscreens and attach it to the pole above the door with reusable plastic tie backs.  It works really well (had wasps in the awning, but none in the camper).  We have also put a pair of voile curtains on the bed ends and make sure they are closed and tucked in under the mattresses during the day.  They work really well too and during the night, we just close these which lets the air circulate.
